Beaches & Tijuca Forest

Rio is the only major city in the world with a rainforest inside it. On this nature tour we explore Tijuca National Park by car and on foot: Vista Chinesa, Mesa do Imperador, waterfalls where you can dip your feet, and easy trails with a good chance of spotting toucans and marmosets.

In the afternoon we head west to the wild beaches of Prainha and Grumari, protected as environmental reserves with no buildings on the horizon, where carioca surfers spend their weekends. We close the day at Arpoador rock, between Ipanema and Copacabana, applauding the sunset with the locals.
